Published openly, wherever the data is public.

Work built on public records is released free with a permanent DOI. Public information should return to the public.

County Data Briefs

In preparation

Short analyses of county public finance and service delivery, sourced entirely from published government records, offered first to the institutions they concern, and released openly. Written to be read in ten minutes and quoted without permission.

The opening series covers county budget execution and absorption, procurement patterns, and the household-level effects of the LAPSSET corridor. Each will be posted here as it is finished, with the underlying data.

Research papers

In preparation

Peer-reviewed and submitted academic work in development economics, labour markets, public finance and gender.

Papers currently under review are listed as working papers below until a journal decision is final. We do not list a paper as published before it is.

Datasets

In preparation

Cleaned, documented datasets released for reuse, with a codebook and the collection method stated. Where a dataset was collected under a client contract, it is released only with that client’s agreement.

Datasets will be published here as engagements conclude and clearance allows.

Reports

In preparation

Full commissioned studies, published where the client agrees to open release.

Commissioned reports appear here once the client has approved publication.

Working papers

2 items

Work in progress, circulated for comment before formal publication. Authored by the firm’s principal; papers predating the company’s incorporation are marked by their posting date.

Corrections. If a figure in anything published here is wrong, report it and it will be corrected publicly, with the correction dated and visible rather than silently replaced. Every brief that analyses a public body is shared with that body in draft, and any reply is published alongside our findings.
