What this platform does
A searchable directory of jobs, internships, apprenticeships, scholarships, training, entrepreneurship programmes and digital work — each one traced back to its official source and checked before it is listed.
A short, honest self-assessment that shows what you can already do, what would strengthen your position, and where to start. It is not a test and it is not a judgement.
Answer a few questions and get a practical sequence: what to learn, in what order, what to build as evidence, and which listed opportunities it leads towards.

Why Afrigender built this
Afrigender Analytics is an independent economic research and data consultancy based in Lamu County. We work on applied economic research, monitoring and evaluation, survey design, public finance analysis, data products and training.
Young people in Lamu are not short of ability. They are short of information — about what exists, what it asks for, and how to get from where they are to where it is. That is an information problem, and information problems are what a research organisation is for.
So this platform is built the way we build research. Every opportunity has a traceable source. Nothing is published that cannot be checked. What the data cannot establish is stated alongside what it can.
Capacity building
The Lamu Data Lab is Afrigender's own community analytics programme: an eight-week course teaching young people in Lamu to collect, clean, analyse and publish data about their own county. It is free, and it is funded from a fixed share of Afrigender's consultancy revenue.
It is not a formal qualification. Participants finish with work they produced themselves, which is generally worth more.
Young people resident in Lamu County. No prior data or computer experience is required. Being recommended the Data Lab by this platform does not guarantee a place — selection is made separately by Afrigender.
